On Friday, June 24th, 2022, the US Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, thereby ending 50 years of national-level protection over women’s medical privacy and the right to choose to have an abortion. That evening, thousands of New Yorkers rallied in Manhattan’s Washington Square Park to protest this decision. After organizers expressed the anger and hurt caused by the ruling and gave plans for follow-up action, the crowd marched down Fifth Ave. to Union Square.
The following are photos I took while in attendance.

Ultimately, I believe June 24th will be remembered as a dark day in American history. Whether you are for or against abortion, male or female, the decision to overturn Roe v. Wade is likely to yield unintentional consequences that will affect you or a loved one far worse than if it had been left alone.
